Statement of Faith

The Scriptures - The Old and New Testaments are the inspired and authoritative Word of God. It is the Divine and final authority for the Christian Life. There is one God, the Creator of all things, who is infinitely perfect and eternally existent in three persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is True God and True Man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life and died on the cross as a sacrifice for the sins of all men. He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into Heaven and is presently seated at the right hand of the Father as of High Priest and Advocate.

Man, The Fall, and Redemption - Man is a created being, made in the likeliness and the image of God, but through Adam’s transgression and all, sin came into the world. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was manifested to undo the work of the devil and gave His life and shed His blood to redeem and restore man back to God. Salvation is the gift of God to man, separate from works and the law, and is made operative by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, producing works acceptable to God.

Eternal Life and New Birth - Man’s first step toward salvation is godly sorrow that works repentance. The new birth is necessary to all men and produces eternal life.

Water Baptism - Baptism in the water by immersion is a direct commandment of our Lord and is for believers only. The ordinance is a symbol of the Christian’s identification with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection.

The Lord’s Supper - We believe in the commemoration of the Lord’s Supper as a type of the broken body and shed blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, and as an ordinance showing forth the death, burial and resurrection.

Baptism in the Holy Spirit - The Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a gift from God as promised by the Lord Jesus Christ to all believers in this dispensation and is received subsequent to the new birth.

The Church - The Universal Church is composed of all those who are born again. Through this new birth we are united together in the Body of Christ. Jesus Christ is the Lord and head of the Church and has provided leadership for the local church through the ministry grifts, which only He can give.

Divine Healing - We believe that divine healing is the power of God to heal the sick and afflicted in answer to believing prayer, and is provided for in the atonement of Christ. We believe that God is willing to, and does, heal the sick today.

Hell and Eternal Retribution - The one who physically dies in his sins without Christ is hopelessly snd eternally lost in the Lake of Fire and therefore, has no further opportunity of hearing the Gospel or repenting. The Lake of Fire is literal.

Second Coming - We believe that the Second Coming of Christ is personal, imminent and pre-millennial; that the Lord Himself will descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the Archangel, with the Trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then the redeemed which are alive and remain, shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.
